Understanding our scientific approaches

AB Science is a company that designs and develops novel drugs in the field of protein kinases, key enzymes in intracellular signalling pathways whose overexpression or mutations can notably lead to tumour or neurodegenerative diseases.

Our science is based on private and academic research networks of internationally renowned scientists in the fields of chemistry, pharmacology and medicine.

Masitinib, AB Science’s lead compound, is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that controls the inappropriate activation of mast cells and glial cells, which are involved in tumour, inflammatory and neuroimmune processes.

AB Science is also developing a new compound that destabilises tubulin and inhibits ALDHs, enzymes involved in the survival of tumour stem cells. This compound, designated AB8939, is currently in a Phase 1 clinical trial in refractory acute myeloid leukaemia.
