Le masitinib est d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 pour traiter les formes les plus s\u00e9v\u00e8res de la maladie, qui repr\u00e9sentent environ 65 % des cas de dr\u00e9panocytose. Les formes graves de la maladie repr\u00e9sentent un d\u00e9fi majeur pour la sant\u00e9 publique et peuvent mener au d\u00e9c\u00e8s pr\u00e9coce. Le traitement de la dr\u00e9panocytose peut \u00eatre curatif gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la th\u00e9rapie g\u00e9nique (qui cible la mutation HbS), mais cette option reste extr\u00eamement limit\u00e9e en raison de la raret\u00e9 des donneurs, des probl\u00e8mes de tol\u00e9rance non r\u00e9solus et des co\u00fbts tr\u00e8s \u00e9lev\u00e9s. Le traitement standard de la dr\u00e9panocytose est une transfusion de globules rouges ainsi qu\u2019un traitement \u00e0 l&rsquo;hydroxyur\u00e9e pour g\u00e9rer les complications, mais le besoin m\u00e9dical reste important.[\/vc_column_text]<div class=\"dt-fancy-separator title-left h3-size title-color\" style=\"width: 100%;\"><div class=\"dt-fancy-title\"><span class=\"separator-holder separator-left\" style=\"border-color: #00477a;\"><\/span>M\u00e9canisme d&#039;action du masitinib dans la dr\u00e9panocytose<span class=\"separator-holder separator-right\" style=\"border-color: #00477a;\"><\/span><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ult-spacer spacer-6a6cff99bc419\" data-id=\"6a6cff99bc419\" data-height=\"20\" data-height-mobile=\"10\" data-height-tab=\"20\" data-height-tab-portrait=\"20\" data-height-mobile-landscape=\"10\" style=\"clear:both;display:block;\"><\/div>[vc_column_text]R\u00e9cemment, un r\u00f4le majeur de l&rsquo;inflammation m\u00e9di\u00e9e par les cellules immunitaires inn\u00e9es et favorisant la vaso-occlusion a \u00e9t\u00e9 mis en \u00e9vidence.
